When we first heard of it, cryolipolysis had us going “cryo- what?” – but we’ve since learnt a few interesting facts about this nonsurgical fat-reduction procedure, including how it gets rid of excess fat cells by using cold temperature to freeze and break the jiggles down. Aesthetic clinic Sense De Belle has recently gotten its hands on French-made machine Cristal, which is supposed to be the safest body-contouring device on the market for cryolipolysis. While not new, the device now comes with an innovation, the Amethyst Applicator, which allows for more efficient and comfortable suction of fat tissue in hard-to-reach areas, such as the inner thighs and “saddlebags”. What are some common issues faced by mascara users and how do we solve them?

Mascara is the holy grail product in every makeup kit, which can instantly make you look bright-eyed and bushy-tailed (but hopefully not like a racoon!). Firstly, DO NOT pump your wand! This adds air to the formula, which will dry out your mascara. To avoid clumping, move it gently around the tube, and before applying, wipe off any excess product and allow your spoolie to do its job. Wiggle your way through your lashes in a zigzag path while pulling them up to lift the lashes. For something long-lasting that’s ideal for sensitive eyes, I like to use Amplio Pure Noir Mascara. You’ll only need one to two coats, but for extra “pop”, you can apply it up to three to six times. If you can’t seem to hold a curl but want to, use a waterproof mascara after you’ve curled – one example is MAC Cosmetic’s Haute & Naughty Waterproof Lash Mascara. If you have sparse lashes, use a lash primer such as Lancôme Cils Booster XL Super-Enhancing Mascara Primer to improve the overall health of your lashes. Switch to a gentle creamor oil-based eye makeup remover, and pat, don’t rub. Also consider investing in a lash growth serum such as Baréskin Lash Essence or try an overnight mask with Vaseline (take a small amount with your ring finger and gently apply on your lashes before bed – it’s such an amazing and easy mask!).
