How to style a small space

Short on space? Don’t worry, your home can still be big on style! With these tips and tricks, you too can live in a small space that reflects your personality without feeling like the walls are closing in on you.

#1 Use reflective and clear materials like mirror, glass, acrylic, shell, glossy tiles or even paint with some sheen in it. These will help expand the sense of visual space by bouncing light around for an airier, lighter feel. #2 Coffee tables are notorious space suckers. Try a compact nesting table or an upholstered ottoman instead, which you can use as a table by adding a tray. #3 Aim to keep the eyemoving by drawing attention to different heights of the roomwith artwork, wall sconces, pendant lights, drapery and shelves. #4 Neutral, even-toned rooms can also create the illusion of more space, but be sure to layer in texture for interest. Don’t like neutrals? Just aim to curate a tight colour palette to help your home feel more cohesive.
