NEXUS INTERNATIONAL SCHOOL

Voice of a student Jack Foo, Year 11, New Zealander

A major highlight of my time at school would probably be when my band The Eclipse was first formed. We debuted in 2016 and have since been writing songs and performing together. Besides playing at school, we’ve also performed at the Rock and Indie Festival at Lasalle College of the Arts in 2018 and 2019. After graduation, I’d like to carry on with

This is my 10th year at Nexus International School (Singapore). Some of the things I like about the school are its brand new music facilities and how it provides lots of opportunities for students to perform. There are a wide range of different musical

music and keep it as a big part of my life. I’d like to compose, perform or teach, which I’m already doing a bit of (and enjoying a lot)!

instruments available to kick-start our interests. It’s been great trying them out and learning about them. Also, the teachers, students and parents at Nexus are all friendly and help each other out. I’ve been playing music for five years and I’m currently taking IGCSE Music where I learn all about music theory; it’s been really great so far! I find looking at musical scores from different times in history really interesting. My favourite era of music is the romantic era because it’s very expressive. I also like hanging out at the Music department and playing the guitar and other instruments with my friends.
