KIDS GUIDE 2019

ACTIVE & INSPIRED

Learning the Lingo

Helping children immerse themselves in a language in a fun and interactive way has been a key to the Little Mandarins approach over the past 12 years.

Charles (12) and Holly (10), British/American

Charles : Little Mandarins has helpedme somuch. We were in Taiwan on holiday recently and went to a restaurant where no one spoke English. I was able to read the menu and talk to the waiter, which helped our family have a much better dinner. Holly: I feel more confident at school because I’ve had extra practice and have learnt new words. Our teachers are very supportive and help us to do our best. I have boosted my grades and enjoyed learning more about Chinese culture.

We started at Little Mandarins about five and half years ago, after it was recommended by a friend. Our parents wanted us to practice Mandarin outside school in a smaller group setting rather than with a private tutor. We’ve learnt Chinese there in a lot of different ways, like reading Chinese books, playing fun games and watching short films to help us learn the topics, characters and vocabulary we are studying. We’ve made some great friends and it’s fun to be in class with them, playing games while we’re learning. Sometimes we even forget we’re in class!
