What students say... Phoebe Edgley, Australian, Year 11 I joined Nexus in 2013 and it has been an incredible journey. From Year 6 to Year 11, I’ve grown into my own person through the help of the school community. I am currently in the final year of my IGCSE programme and I’m feeling well prepared and supported by all the teachers who have worked alongside me, encouraging my passion for music together with my growing interest in science. On reflection, I have been so lucky to be involved in different aspects of the musical programme, from choirs and school musicals to private singing lessons and, of course, the amazing annual Nexus Beats event. My greatest memory at Nexus was when my music friends and I travelled to Suzhou in China and sang in a mass choir of over 1,000 students. It was an arduous journey but singalongs in the bus helped us get there. We met professional conductors who had amazing insights and advice. It was absolutely freezing as it was winter but this meant I was able to see snow for the first time! cold, watching snowflakes land on people’s eyelashes and being immersed in the bustling city. After many hours of rehearsals, finally standing and performing in a grand theatre hall was beyond rewarding!
