KIDS GUIDE 2019

ACTIVE & INSPIRED

COMMUNITY SPORT Founded in 2011, Dragons Rugby Club is a not-for-profit organisation that fosters fitness and teamwork within a fun environment, allowing children from four to 17 years the opportunity to learn and develop key skills to play rugby.

Andrew Birch & Rachel Lee, British & Singaporean; Oliver (11) and Oscar (7)

It’s a joy supporting our children in a game they’re passionate about. Andrew became a coach because hewanted to bemore involved and I take tournament photographs. It gives children opportunities to learn to be part of a team while experiencing themany emotions that come with winning or losing. Oliver plays full contact U11s rugby and

Oscar plays U7s touch rugby. They learn drills and match plays during training to then incorporate in games. We also experience a roller coaster of emotions as we watch our children grow in confidence and resilience.

young START THEM Supervised gym sessions can help your tween or teen thrive. Got a young athlete in the family? UFIT’s Youth Academy was founded and designed for kids’ aged 10 to 15 to help improve their sporting performance and overall fitness level – while having fun, of course! Over weekly gym classes, UFIT’s coaches guide and train children to improve their fitness fundamentals – coordination, flexibility, speed, strength and conditioning. There are levels that your child can progress to and challenge themselves to get through, from beginner to advanced (Bronze, Silver and Gold). Importantly, the team supervises classes carefully to ensure children are moving correctly and know how to prevent injuries.

Also look out for UFIT’s Kids’ Camps, held four times a year for ages seven to 14. The camps provide a safe and positive environment for children to practice sports they love while making new friends.
