5 Steps Academy

Both children have been attending 5 Steps since last year. Our experience with the school has been very positive. The teachers are open to feedback and suggestions, and the classes are small, encouraging the children to be more engaged with the class and allowing teachers to observe each child’s academics as well as behaviour.

The subjects are taught intensively, which explains how fast the students progress. Both our children are thriving and learning beyond their school grades. The school also offers extracurricular activities such as karate, music, art and chess, which our children enjoy. We also love the fact that the school cares about values

and character as much as academics. The school was recommended by a fellow expat friend. It’s the only international school in Singapore that specialises in mathematics and science. During our visit, we spoke to teachers and saw how engaged the children were, so we decided that this would be the right school for our own kids; we were particularly excited about them having a teacher with a PhD in maths and psychology. We discussed unique learning plans for each child with the Head of School, and he based these on our preferences and objectives. As the year progresses, upon our approval, the school will adjust them based on our children’s individual needs, learning styles and speed. Our children are doing school work beyond their grade level, are able to do their homework independently and are happy to go to school every day.
