Does your child forget to bring things home from school? Is their backpack in a mess? The clever people at All Hands Together recommend these five tips to help keep things organised: #1 Design a daily planner with your child, and encourage them to use it every day. Keep one copy at home and stick the other copy in their school diary. #2 Create a folder with pockets labelled Home, School and For Mom/Dad. Encourage your child to keep all the bits of paper they receive at school and file them in one spot. #3 Use coloured washable bags and allocate one for each of your children’s different activities. Place all the clothes and accessories needed for each activity in the bag and label clearly. #4 Create a checklist of the things children need to have in their school bag. Attach one copy to the bag so they can check as they pack, and another in their school locker. #5 Getting organised can be very challenging for some kids so it’s important to reward themwhen they do well, and to offer the support they need.
